Loot Crate August 2017 Unboxing Video: Kingdom Theme

The Loot Crate August 2017 comes with the theme Kingdom with connections to Lord of the Rings, Zelda, Adventure Time, and more. It’s time to take a gander at Loot Crate’s Kingdom.

Loot Crate ($20/Recurring)

The highlight of the Kingdom box is the t-shirt with its Zelda theme. The shirt is inspired by the 8-bit Zelda of yesteryear with a map from one of the levels of the NES version. The map is composed to create Link in large scale 8-bit form for a double layered t-shirt that is great to wear. Next up, is the figure which comes straight from Adventure Time. It’s the Ice King sitting on his throne with Gunter and friends. Adventure Time fans will love this figure, but there’s limited appeal beyond that fan base.

Lord of the Rings covers the next two items beginning with a color changing glass. There is lettering around the middle of the cup to depict the elven writing on the ring. It’s a quality glass for an LoTR fan with the color changing as a nice bonus. The crate also includes a mini poster from the Two Towers with Treebeard in the foreground with Pippin and Merry in his branches.

The Loot Crate August 2017 doesn’t have a true stand out item, and theme has a rather loose fitting making it one to skip.

Loot Crate July 2017 Unboxing Video: Animation Theme

The theme for the Loot Crate July 2017 is animation with connections to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Rick & Morty, Futurama, and more. Loot Crate had an animation theme in the middle of 2016 with similar franchises represented. How does the 2017 edition rate?

The Crate stand outs begin with the t-shirt of the month which is TMNT inspired. It’s a green shirt with the turtle van set in neon green at the bottom right. The real stand out is the turtle shell print that span the entire front of the shirt to make a great item to wear to show your TMNT fandom. The figure this month comes from Rick & Morty with Rick shown flipping the bird on both hands. It’s a great depiction of Rick that is a nice definer of the character. The pose comes from season 2 episode 6 in which Rick has a planet that powers his ships battery, and he has told the inhabitants that flipping off means, “peace among worlds”.

Also included in this month’s crate is a recipe collection inspired by Bob’s Burgers. There are 25 burger of the day recipes included, and the crate unfolds to hold a recipe. To round out the crate, there’s a two pack of soda can Koozies with Slurm branding straight out of Futurama.

The July 2017 Loot Crate delivers exceptionally well on the animation theme with some outstanding items to add to your collection.

Loot Crate June 2017 Unboxing Video: Alter Ego Theme

Loot Crate June 2017 has gone with the theme, Alter Ego. You can expect items from Transformers, Spider Man, The Hulk, and more. Alter Ego can go many ways with so many heroes having one, but it’s time find out what specifically comes in this month’s crate.

Loot Crate ($20/Recurring)

The big ticket item from this crate is the figure, and it ties into the upcoming release of Spider-Man Homecoming. The figure is from QFig, and depicts spider-man hanging upside down from a street light while shooting out a web. It’s a variant QFig that comes in a black & white color scheme, and looks absolutely outstanding on a shelf. The shirt for this month is a close second as it shows Optimus Prime transforming from big rig to his battle form. It’s a light blue shirt that shows five scenes to depict the transformation, and the art is styled after the classic series, rather than the current films.

Next up is a cereal bowl with Hulk’s hand imprinted on the outside. It would have been nice for Hulk’s fingers to have depth or for the bowl to be a larger scale. To round out the box, is a poster collection in postcard size tied to DC’s The New 52. There are some great prints included, but they’re printed front and back, so if you hang up one side, the other side is buried.

The June 2017 Loot Crate has hits and misses, but excels at the big ticket items for a worthwhile crate.
